I enjoyed the game. As I mentioned before in my review of Far Cry 5, when I purchase a Far Cry game, I expect a Far Cry experience. This game delivered exactly what I paid for. In my opinion, it was event better than Far Cry 5. The improved story and the absence of the same "sleeping" formula in each zone for story progression was nice.
This futuristic world offers many Far Cry 5 like experiences, from vigilante justice to kooky sidekicks, you’ll basically be playing in Hope County 2077. 9. The Forest. The scary but brilliant struggle for survival in The Forest. The Forest is a game that is never boring.
Then there’s the blurry graphics, inconsistent frame rate and narrow field of view. It just doesn’t feel like a next gen game. Far Cry 5 felt far more polished on the series X except at 30FPS. Finally, the moment to moment gameplay is okay but the mission structure and lack of an upgrades path is a big step back from Far Cry 5.
Far Cry 5 was my second game of the franchise, after loving Far Cry 4. I bought it not too far from release thinking it'd be better than Far Cry 4 in every way. I heavily disliked it. So much so, that I completely left the game just before finishing and only came back 8 months after because I was straight up fed up with it.
I've only played Far Cry 2, blood dragon, and about 5 hours of 3 so I'm not speaking from tons of experience. But I feel like a Far Cry set in Vietnam, WW2, the USSR, the American Civil War, or the wild west would be a lot more interesting than another Far Cry set on another tropical island/country. 5 seems to have the most interesting setting

Far Cry 5 has a better outpost-building, in my opinion. Far Cry 5 has some really nicely designed outposts, and you can enter any building. Far Cry 4 has a better overall world building. Sadly, there are no radio towers to uncover maps in Far Cry 5 (I loved to climb them), but you can pick up a map to see points of interests.
